Teaching the RYA's courses can be a rewarding, challenging and fun career or hobby. The strength of the RYA's world famous training programmes is dependent upon the quality of its instructors, coaches and trainers.
Cruising & Yachtmaster Instructors
The first step in teaching within the RYA scheme is to become qualified as a Cruising Instructor, before moving up to the Yachtmaster™ Instructor qualification. Both qualifications can be taken in sail and motor cruisers, and your certificate will be endorsed accordingly.
Prior to any Cruising Instructor training, you will need to be a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster™ Offshore. You must also complete the online pre-course knowledge check, access to this will be arranged by the training centre who will be doing your practical training.
